Memorial Monument Cosmonaut A.G. Nikonov

Monument to Andrian Grigorievich Nikitin was installed in Cheboksary at the intersection of Lenina Avenue and Nikolayev Street. It was opened on August 15, 1987 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his first flight as a Chuvash cosmonaut. The sculpture was created by Anatoly Brindy and architect Anatoly Oreshnikov. In the composition there is a depiction of a cosmonaut's head in a spacesuit. The object has the status of a regional historical and cultural monument. Placards immortalize his flights on spacecrafts "Vostok-3" and "Soyuz-9".
