N. Y. Bichurin Monument

The monument to Nikita Yakovlevich Bichurin is located in Cheboksary on Moskovsky Prospect, near Chuvash State Institute of Humanities Sciences. The scholar-easterner, known under his monastic name Iakinf, was installed here in June 1999 and made from oak. The monument immortalizes the name of the China researcher whose name also bears one of the city's streets.
