National Library of Chuvash Republic

The National Library of Chuvash Republic is situated in Cheboksary on Lenina Avenue, 15. Established in 1871 as Cheboksary City Public Library. Since April 1994 it has been the main library and information organization for the region. The library's collection comprises over two million items. Special attention is given to preserving the Chuvash language and culture. In 2021 its 150th anniversary was celebrated. An annex to the library was built in 2011.
