Mother Protector Monument

The Monument to Mother-Patroness towers above the western shore of Cheboksary Bay, erected in May 2003 by sculptor Vladimir Porfiryevich Nagornov. Its total height reaches 46 meters, with the pedestal made of concrete and standing 25 meters high. A symbol of mother protecting Chuvash land, it has become one of the city’s recognizable landmarks. The monument was unveiled on May 9th of that year.
