Chuvash State Opera and Ballet Theatre

Chuvash State Opera and Ballet Theatre — the main musical theatre of the Chuvash Republic. It was opened in 1960 with the premiere of the first Chuvash national opera "Shyvarmany". The new building of the theatre, constructed in 1985, is a bright example of Soviet modernism. Officially, the institution has been named Chuvash State Opera and Ballet Theatre since November 1, 1993. The theatre is situated on Moscow Prospekt in Cheboksary.
