Chuvash Republic State Art Museum

The Chuvash State Art Museum is situated in Cheboksary on Kalinina Street, 60. Founded in 1939, its collection includes icons, Russian and foreign painting from the 18th to 20th centuries, works by Chuvash masters and decorative-applied art. The fund comprises over 30,000 exhibits. There is also a branch-museum-spirit house of M.S. Spiridonov and an exhibition hall of the Center for Contemporary Art. Works by famous Russian artists such as V.A. Tropinin, K.A. Korovin, A.I. Kuindzhi, Z.E. Serebrennikov and N.I. Fechin are presented here.
