Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ufa is the largest capacity church in the city, an architectural monument of the late 19th century in Russian style. Its height is 68 meters including a 47-meter bell tower. The cathedral was closed since 1934 and returned to believers in 1991 after many years of restoration. In the temple there are side altars dedicated to Archangel Mikhail and Saint Nikolay the Wonderworker, walls and ceilings are decorated with paintings. The Cathedral is the seat of the Ufa Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
