Bashkir Academic Drama Theatre named after Majit Gafuri

Bashkir Academic Drama Theatre named after Majit Gafuri is located in Ufa at Zaki Valiidi Street, 34. Founded in 1919 in Sterlitamak and later moved to Ufa, it is an architectural monument situated on the site of former Vorotinsky Cathedral. The theatre bears the name of famous Bashkir poet and writer Majit Gafuri; there is a statue of him outside. Performances include works by Bashkir dramatists and classical plays. For its merits, the theatre was awarded Order of Labor Red Banner.
