Uspensky Cathedral of Astrakhan Kremlin

The Успенский cathedral is located in the Astrakhan Kremlin. Its construction took place from 1699 to 1710 under the supervision of master Dorofey Mekhyshev. The process was overseen by Metropolitan Samson. It is the main church of the city and one of the key architectural dominants of Astrakhan, replacing the previously standing wooden cathedral built in 1568 by abbot Кирилл.
