Memorial to Glory

Barnaul, Pobedy Sq, 1

Memorial to Glory in Barnaul is located on Victory Square. It was created from 1971 to 1975 according to projects by architects Pyotr Mironov and Vladimir Dobrovolsky. The central element of the ensemble is a monument-obelisk dedicated to the victory of the Soviet people in World War II, which was opened in 1971. The memorial includes four architectural structures with a sculptural group "Farewell" as its thematic center. The core of the complex is a broken ring of concrete redoubt with copper bas-reliefs depicting eight branches of service inside.
