The Mining Workers' Culture Palace in Karaganda is a landmark reflecting the mining character of the city and its industrial past. The building, constructed in Soviet style with Kazakh architectural elements, features sculptures of a miner, shepherd, soldier, kolkhoz woman, engineer, and akyn. Construction began in 1940 but was halted during the war and completed in 1952. Today, it serves as an important symbol of Karagandy's industrial history.
