Akyrtau Complex

Akyrtau Palace Complex is located near Taraz and is an important archaeological monument of the Zhambyl region. Included as part of the UNESCO World Heritage route "Silk Road". The complex consists of large stone blocks, palaces and engineering structures, whose purpose remains a subject of scientific debate. It is considered possible that it served as a palace, caravanserai or had a sacred significance.
