First President Park

The Park of the First President is situated in the southern part of Almaty on Al-Farabi Avenue. It was founded in 2001 when Nursultan Nazarbayev personally planted an oak tree on its grounds. Officially opened to visitors in July 2010, it covers an area of approximately 73 hectares. Coniferous and deciduous trees grow here, including pines and birches. The central entrance area features a fountain complex.
