Kok-Tobe Cable Car

Cableway Kok-Tobe connects Almaty's center with Kok-Tobe Mountain, offering panoramic views of the city and northern slopes of Zailiysky Alatau. After the 2016 reconstruction it uses modern enclosed cabins. The road about 1.6 km long goes above the city's center starting from the lower station near Republic Palace. The first cableway here started operating back in 1967.
