Batumi Botanical Garden

Batumi Botanical Garden is situated in Georgia, in Batumi city, on the Black Sea coast. Established in 1912, it covers an area of 111 hectares. It features nine floristic regions with plants from various parts of the world: America, Mexico, New Zealand, Himalayas, Eastern Asia, and Mediterranean. The garden's collection includes over 5000 plant species. Since 1998, it has been a member of the international botanical gardens organization BGCI. In 1881, Mechel' d'Alphonse initiated systematic introduction of new plants to the region.
