Shingmun Country Park

Tsuen Wan, Shing Mun, Shing Mun Road, Visitor Centre by the minibus terminus

Shingmun Country Park is situated near Shingmun Reservoir in Chunwan. Established in 1977, it previously was used for wolfram mining which started in 1936 and continued until the end of the 1960s. There is a 44-hectare arboretum with over 300 species of plants predominantly native to the region. The park is popular among city dwellers due to its proximity to residential areas although wild animals are rarely encountered here.
