Potoi Island

Potoi Island is situated near the pier in Tai Wan Bay, on the Outlying Islands. Known for a local legend about the family of Mo Syuthong being saved due to hospitality during a festival. There is an old Tin Hau temple with impressive views of surroundings. Once every three years there is a ceremony called Taiping Jiao to ward off evil and receive blessings. Tourists can buy locally made refreshments at the pier. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk to Nam Kok Tsai Lighthouse. No official camping area but tourists set up tents near the lighthouse and Ngoon Chung village.
