Outlying Islands, Lamma Island, Tai Ling, hill above Hung Shing Yeh

Wind Power Station "Lamma Winds" is situated on a hill above Hung Shing Yeh, Outlying Islands. Opened in 2006, it became Hong Kong's first commercially significant wind station. A Nordex turbine with a capacity of 800 kW operated until 2026, generating over 16 million kWh of electricity annually, reducing CO₂ emissions equivalent to planting 560,000 trees each year. Due to the end of its equipment's service life, the station ceased operations on May 11, 2026. On its premises there is an exhibition showcasing types of renewable energy and their advantages.
