Lamma Island

Outlying Islands, Lamma Island, Yung Shue Wan (ferry pier)

Lamma Island is situated among Hong Kong's outer islands and is the fourth largest. Archaeological evidence indicates that its northern and eastern parts were inhabited during the Middle Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. Today it is known for its sparsely populated southern areas and two popular sea routes for kayaking. Most local residents live in Yung Shue Wan where major residential buildings called "small houses" are located. Access can be obtained via ferries from several companies including routes departing from Central, Yung Shue Wan and other coastal points.
