Shalouan Village is situated on Lantau Island. It emerged in the 18th century when local residents built Bacon Temple in honor of Hunsin. Tungsten mining began there in the 1950s, increasing the population to 4000 people but later the population decreased mainly due to aging inhabitants. Shalouan's temple has an altar depicting Tianhou and is made from concrete with green tiles. Annually, Hunsin Festival takes place featuring worship rituals and performances of Cantonese opera.
