Jubilee Battery

Hong Kong, Sai Wan, Victoria Road, junction with Mount Davis Road

Jubilee Battery is situated at the foot of Moslin Hill, on the intersection of Victoria Road and Mount Davis Road. During World War II it was home to Battery No. 26, an important coastal artillery unit defending Lamma Island. After British surrender in December 1941, its guns were blown up by defenders themselves. Later, the premises served as a prison for British prisoners and filming location. The former Royal Engineers' mess hall, built in modern style, is protected by the state as historical heritage.
