Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk

Sophian Cathedral in Polotsk is situated on Zamkovaya Street. It is an ancient cathedral church built between 1044 and 1066. The cathedral is known for using a special type of brick called plintha during construction. The current appearance of the building was influenced by Vilnian Baroque style. Inside the cathedral there is an architecture history museum and concert hall. An organ from Rieger-Kloss with 48 registers and over 3 thousand pipes has been installed here.
