Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street

Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street in Polotsk runs along the historical bank of the Western Dvina. There are Pyotr I's Cottage, printing house museum and Lutheran church here. In 2008 it got back its original name - Velikaya. Nearby there is a monument to twenty-three guardsmen. Formation of the street was linked with regular city planning, while its current shape took form in late XVIII century. Earlier it was called Lenina Street.
