Polotsk Red Bridge

Red Bridge in Polotsk - an automobile road bridge over the Polduta River built in 1975; its name relates to the historical battle between Russian and French troops in October 1812. During reconstruction, decorative elements of the former wooden structure were reproduced. To commemorate events from 1812, a memorial plaque was installed near the bridge. In 1812, Russian troops led by Wittgenstein crossed the bridge entering the city.
