Bogoyavlensky Cathedral, Polotsk

The Bogoyavlensky Cathedral in Polotsk - an 18th century Orthodox church situated on Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street. The building was constructed in the baroque style with classicism elements. During the Soviet period it served as a sports hall. In 2020 its premises housed the relics of Archdeacon Constantine Zhdanov. Previously it belonged to the Bogoilyavlensky male monastery whose extension was designed by architect Jacopo Quarenghi between 1780-1788.
