Monument to a Dog in the Old Park

In the Old Park of Nesvizh, there is a sculpture of a dog, which is a modern decorative element and not an original structure of the Radziwills. On the animal's medallion, one can discern the coat of arms of the family — three hunting horns, and the pedestal is inscribed with the date 1896 in memory of the original, which did not survive the Soviet years. The current reconstruction of the monument, created by Prince Antoni Wilhelm Radziwill, was carried out by Belarusian sculptor Valeryan Yanushkevich in 1993. It is one of the first monuments to an animal in Europe erected not for hunting merits, but for personal courage and saving a human life.
