Dominican Church and Monastery of Nesvizh

The Dominican Church and Monastery appeared in Nesvizh in 1672 thanks to the Podstoli of Smolensk, Basil Bokonovsky, and operated until 1864. A school worked at the cloister, where the poet Vladislav Syrokomla studied, and his library was considered one of the largest in the region. To this day, only the church has been preserved, and a city cinema now operates on the territory of the former complex. This Dominican ensemble was part of a network of Catholic monasteries that formed in Nesvizh under the Radziwills, when the city was a center of Catholic culture.
