Undine's Well

Nesvizh, Old Park

The Undine Well in the Old Park of Nesvizh marks the site of the former "Hot Meadow" spring, where unfrozen keys flowed in winter, but now the natural springs have dried up, and the pond is filled only with rain and meltwater. On a boulder in the pond sits a sculpture of a two-tailed Undine, which has become one of the park's symbols. According to legend, on moonlit nights, mermaids led by Undine emerged from the water and lured young men to the well with their songs, and the stream flowing from it turned into a canal that ended in the picturesque Mirror Pond. The Radziwills deliberately developed these legends to give the park a romantic and mystical atmosphere.
