Bust of Yuri Nesvizhsky

Nesvizh, Pamyati Alley

A bust of Yuri Nesvizhsky, an ancient Russian appanage prince whose figure is connected with the early history of the city, is installed on the Alley of Memory in Nesvizh. The prince is depicted in armor and a cloak as a brave warrior, although no authentic lifetime images of him have survived, and the sculptor relied on local legends. Yuri Nesvizhsky is known as a participant in the Battle of Kalka River in 1223, and his connection to the city remains a subject of debate in historiography due to the similarity of the names. The bust was installed in 1992 together with the opening of the Alley of Memory itself.
