Upper Town of Minsk

The Upper Town of Minsk is situated on a hill above the Swisloch River and serves as the historical center of the capital. Its heart is Freedom Square, around which important landmarks are concentrated: Minsk Rathouse, Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, and Church of Our Lady. Here various city events, festivals, and historical reconstructions take place. Streets such as Kirill and Mephodii, Gertsena, Zybytskaya, and International run through the Upper Town. The district is connected to the Trinity Suburb via streets and bridges over the river.
