Independence Square

Independence Square - the central square of Minsk, located along the city's main public axis. Here are the Belarusian State University and the government house of Belarus built in the 1930s. Under the square there is a shopping center "Stolitsa" opened in 2007. It is connected to Independence Avenue and Soviet Street. On the square there is a metro station "Lenin Square". Formation of the square began in the 1930s as the main administrative area of the city.
