Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre

The National Academic Theatre named after Yanka Kupala in Minsk is built in the eclectic style with a predominance of classical motifs and elements of neo-Baroque. The tall windows of the first floor with keystones are adorned with pilasters of the Doric order, and the second floor is finished with a balustrade with a small Baroque pediment and is encircled with moldings and a cornice. Above the windows of the second floor are rectangular sandriks on brackets, and higher up are rose windows with skylights and garlands, above the main entrance there are wide terraces with balustrades. Initially, the horseshoe-shaped hall could be transformed for balls, and later congresses were held here and the first Constitution of the BSSR was adopted. The theater's repertoire includes Russian and foreign classics, contemporary plays, and national dramaturgy.
