Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit

Cathedral Basilica of the Descent of Holy Spirit in Minsk is situated on Kirill and Mefodiy Street. The temple originally belonged to the Bernardines and suffered from a fire in 1835. After being transferred to the Orthodox Church in 1860 it became the main Minsk cathedral. Closed in 1918, reopened during German occupation. The building belongs to Sarmatian Baroque and has a long history of restoration after the destruction of the 17th century.
