Lower Church of the 12th Century

Lower Church in Grodno situated on Zamkova Street is an architectural monument from the 12th century. Its interior features a majolica floor with intricate patterns and details of gilded altar decorations. Walls of the lower part of the temple are decorated with inserts of polished stones. Inside the church remains of a tall man with a rich golden ring on his finger were found; these relics are now exhibited in the Old Castle. Archaeological excavations revealed fragments of an ancient bell.
