Lower Church Twelfth Century

Lower Church of the 12th Century - an archaeological site on Castle Hill in Grodno. These are ruins of a temple discovered during 20th-century excavations and preserved for tourist viewing. The stone church suffered from a fire or collapse in the Middle Ages. It is a significant monument of ancient Grodno architecture and an important source of knowledge about the city's past. Located within the Old Castle grounds.
