Grodno Rathouse, Site of Historical Rathouse

Grodno Town Hall occupied the central city square now known as Soviet Square. This building was the main body of municipal governance and formed the historical silhouette of the square. Here sat representatives of self-governance; the town hall underwent multiple reconstructions after fires and destructions. Acquiring the city's Magdeburg rights is linked to this town hall's history. Despite losing the actual structure, the square preserves memory of its location.
