Grodno Fortress

Grodno Fortress - a complex of defensive structures located in the city and its surroundings. It was formed over centuries, starting from the 19th century, and repeatedly reconstructed under the influence of the development of firearms. The main elements of the fortress include earthworks, moats and individual defense positions situated on high banks of the Neman River. Today only some fragments of these fortifications remain, reflecting the historical significance of defending Grodno.
