Lenin Square Gomel

Lenin Square is the central square of Gomel. It features Gomel Regional Drama Theatre and has a monument to Vladimir Lenin erected in 1958. Originally named Market Square, then Trade, it finally became known as Lenin Square. This area formed the spatial composition of the administrative-public center of the city and emerged in late XVIII — early XIX centuries.
