Pyotr and Paul Cathedral Gomel

The Orthodox St.Pyotr's Cathedral in Gomel serves as the cathedral church of the Gomel Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. It was designed by architect John Clark in classicist style. Construction began on October 18, 1809 and ended in 1819. The consecration took place on May 22, 1824. The cathedral is situated on a high promontory above the Soz River, forming part of the Gomel palace-park ensemble.
