Kirill Turovsky Monument

The monument to bishop, writer and preacher of the 12th century Cyril Turovsky was installed in his namesake square near the regional dramatic theater in Gomel. It was unveiled on September 4, 2004, with sculptors L. and S. Gumilevsky and architect N. Zhloba involved. The bronze figure standing 3.5 meters tall immortalizes the memory of Cyril Turovsky, also known under the nickname "Zlatoust" for his eloquence. The monument is dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Literacy.
