Gomel History Museum

The Homel History Museum is located at Pushkin Street, 32. Opened in 2009 as part of the Year of Native Land. Exhibition covers the history of the city from ancient times to present day, including sections on the development of Homel over the Sozh ("Walks Through Old Homel") and coin displays from different eras (the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Russian Empire). The initiative was launched by the newspaper "Homel Pravda".
