Terespol Gates

Terespol Gates - western entrance fortifications of Brest Fortress leading to the Citadel. Since World War I, they were used for communication with the western direction. During the first days of World War II, the gates became the site of fierce battles. Today they are part of the memorial "Brest Fortress-Hero" and preserve elements of historical fortification. The name is linked to the Polish city Terespol on the other side of the Western Bug River.
