Bat Woman Sculpture

On Gogol Street in Brest there is an unusual sculpture called "Bat". The animal holds a lantern in its claws, symbolizing light and protection from darkness. It is part of a thematic route of small city sculptures harmoniously fitting into the pedestrian zone of the street. The image of the bat was chosen for a reason: it reminds us of the city's ancient traditions of street lighting.
