Brest Fortress Spike Obelisk

The bayonet obelisk is situated in the center of the Citadel of the Brest Fortress. It is designed in the form of a stylized bayonet and serves as the central vertical dominator of the memorial ensemble. Dedicated to the defenders of the fortress, it was unveiled in 1971 and belongs to the post-war memorial architecture of the city. The silhouette of the obelisk is widely used on visual materials of the complex. Together with the monument "Courage" forms an integrated architectural ensemble.
