Memorial to Heroes of Border, Women and Children, Whose Courage Led Them to Immortality

Memorial "Heroes of the Border, Women and Children, Who Stepped Into Immortality Through Their Courage" is situated on the grounds of Brest Fortress, near other monuments of the complex. It was unveiled on June 22, 2011, on Remembrance Day, honoring border guards, women and children who perished at the start of World War II. The memorial highlights the contribution of civilian population to tragic defense events and broadens the commemorative narrative beyond military units.
