St. Astvatsatsin Church in Gndevaz (Holy Mother of God)

The Church of Surb Astvatsatsin in Gndevaz, located in the center of the village at an altitude of about 1750 meters above sea level, is a historical monument of the Armenian Apostolic Church and dates back to 1686. Inside the temple, a unique 400-year-old fresco painting has been preserved, which was repainted in 1906. In 2024, a large-scale restoration program for this object was launched, for which 137 million drams were allocated from the budget of Armenia. Approximately 1.5–2 kilometers west of the village, in the gorge of the Arpa River, lies the medieval monastery of Gndevank.
