Old Canyon Road

The Old Canyon Road begins right behind the Kechut Reservoir dam and the security post, where the asphalt turns into an abandoned dirt path. This route, about 8.5 km long, laid by Soviet engineers along the bottom of the Arpa Gorge, has over time turned into an ecological trail leading towards the Gndevank Monastery. While walking along the road, one can see the stone of Vardan Mamikonyan, and pedestrians are allowed past the strategic dam upon presentation of a passport.
