Agharkhin Monastery

Agharcin Monastery is situated in the forested Dilizhan National Park canyon. This is a medieval architectural complex formed from the X-XIII centuries. The main structures include Surb Astvatsatsin Church (1281 AD) and Surb Stepanos (1244 AD), as well as gavit, refectory, khachkars and utility buildings. Legend associates the monastery's name with an eagle soaring above it during its consecration. Harmoniously blending into the surrounding forest landscape, the monastery attracts tourists with its beauty and history.
