Akhnabatskaya Tisovaya Roshcha

Ahnabatskaya Tisovaya Roshcha is situated near Agavnavank, at an altitude of 1400-1700 meters above sea level. It is a special protected natural area where ancient tisses grow, aged up to 400 years old, with trunk diameters of 70-90 cm and heights up to 25 m. Tis wood is known for its resistance to decay and has been used traditionally. Special value is attributed to relict specimens which are natural monuments.
