Tatev Monastery

Tatev Monastery is located near the city of Goris and is one of the main attractions of Syunik region. It is a medieval complex including the main church of Saints Pyotr and Paul built in the late 9th - early 10th century. The monastery played an important role in the spiritual, educational and cultural life of the region, being a significant center of medieval Armenian scholarship. Today it attracts tourists with its historical significance and beauty of surrounding nature.
