Old Gorisa Cave Settlement

The cave settlement of Old Goris is located at the foot of a rocky amphitheater near Goris. It is a complex of residential and utility structures hewn directly into the rock. Houses provided reliable protection thanks to the natural topography of the area. Inside the caves there are traces of everyday life of ancient inhabitants: depressions for storing food, shelves and other household elements. The settlement demonstrates typical architecture of cave settlements in Syunik region similar to Old Khndzoresk.
